Describing Neighbourhoods: Locations and Directions

              Hi students! Today we'll work on describing neighbourhoods using prepositions of locations and directions. So, let's get started.


Locations


I. Look at the map. Are these sentences true or false? Correct the false answers.
1.       The Piermont Museum of Arts is on Harper Street.
2.       Moonbucks Coffee 1 is between Holly Boulevard and First Avenue.
3.       Book World is on the corner of Holly Boulevard and Second Avenue.
4.       The Bell Theater is around the corner on the left side of the street.
5.       The Film Forum is down the street, on the left side.

II. Compare your answers with a classmate.

III. Look at this map now and answer the following questions using prepositions.

       Write about your neighbourhood describing the locations of places like restaurants, shops, etc. Then, write directions to your house or flat for a classmate. 
           Hand in this to your teacher. This assignment will be evaluated.
