          Robinson Crusoe

                  Hello Students!

Today you are going to start working on this famous  novel written
 by Daniel Defoe.

As you may well know, this story takes place on an island in the  Caribbean Sea. Which islands do you  know in the world? Make a list   in your copybook.

  • Now read this information:

Robinson Crusoe Island , formerly known as Más a Tierra (Closer to land), or Aguas Buenas, is the largest island of the Chilean Juan Fernández archipelago, situated 674 kilometres west of South America in the SouthPacific Ocean. The archipelago is made up of three islands, Robinson Crusoe, Alejandro Selkirk and the small Santa Clara. You may take a look at the map of the island by clicking on the link below:

Some of the places in the story are on the map below- what do you know about them? Write notes in your copybook about each place, using the following example as a starting point:

Africa- the world's second largest continent, deserts, jungles, the Pyramids of Egypt...

World Map

Now it's time to get into chapters 1, 2 and 3

Based on your reading, answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper.

1. Briefly describe how Robinson Crusoe decided to go into the sea. Make a list of the vogages he made until he arrived on a desert island.

2. Explain what happened to the crew and to Robinson during and after the second storm.

3. Robinson found different ways to survive on the island. Describe them.

Hand in your work to your teacher. This is an evaluated task.
